I was so excited when I created two versions of a B&W cards (see here). I was going to add them to my stash so whenever I needed an anniversary or sympathy card I’d be ready. Little did I know that I’d need not just one, but 4 sympathy cards within a span of 3 days last week. Needless to say, that put a damper on my creativity and doing much more in my craft room. But last Friday, my day off from my “regular” job, I jumped in and had a great day, and it continued through the weekend. Creating cards and projects was just what I needed.
I headed over to SGGW weekend challenges with Connie Stewart for inspiration. Last Friday’s (8-5-16) challenge made me think of windows and I knew exactly what I was going to do.
I’ve been working on ideas for the new Thoughtful Branches stamp set and matching Beautiful Branches thinlet dies (available now only through August 31!). And this die looked like one of my favorite flowers that I grew up with, hydrangeas. So window, flowers, and a vase and a card is born..or created…you get the idea! I did use a scrap of retired DSP for the vase accent, but you can use any of wonderful new DSP available.
I thought about adding something in the window “outside”, but decided that would clutter the card too much.
Here’s the supplies you’ll need to create this card:
QUOTE FOR THE DAY:
Remember to hug the ones you love, tell them you love them often because in the blink of an eye, everything can change. You may never know if you’ll have that chance ever again.
Sorry to hear about your sad week last week – hope this week is better! I’ve been seeing sneak peeks of the new holiday catalog, and I can’t wait until I get my copy in the mail. Love seeing what you’ve been creating!
It was a sad week, but a great weekend crafting! And now another weekend is here and I’m at it again!! Watch for the coming week’s posts – boxes and bags ideas!
