I loved this Paper Pumpkin kit when it was released April, 2013, but somehow it was shuffled around my craft. It would resurface occasionally as I would clean up my craft room. Have I mentioned yet, that when I’m creating my cards and projects for my classes, it looks like a hurricane went through the room! I know, keeping my craft room and table neat and putting things away as I finish would really reduce my frustration of trying to find that stamp or embellishment buried in the piles and save lots of time looking for it. I keep saying, I’m going to adopt this habit but it hasn’t happened yet.
This card is just a slight variation of the original Paper Pumpkin example. I loved the card base background and really didn’t want to cover all of it up, so I cut the top layer into strips and used the new Triple Banner punch to cut the banner notches. Then I put the last strip of paper on the inside with a scrap of the twine tied around it several times. It made the inside more finished. I also changed the ink color, the red was a little too harsh for the look I wanted. This card was so simple and fast. The only addition I made was the small scrap of leftover retired Baja Breeze card stock (on how I miss that color of blue!) and the Night of Navy ink pad.

Janice I love how you made this kit over! That was one of two kits that I put together shortly after getting it, and I didn’t have any extra refills (darn!) but I’m going to file the layout away for later! Thanks for sharing, keep the ideas coming 🙂 I will say I LOVED the July kit, and put that together right away. So cute!!
