My cousin’s wife’s adult son died last week after battling heart problems most of his life. I know it’s been so hard for her and her grandsons, and I wanted to send her a sympathy card. As I was contemplating my card design, I saw this week’s FMS482 sketch. I thought it was such a simple, elegant layout for such a sad card.

I’ve also been playing with my Dandy Garden suite products and wanted to use my Dandy Wishes dies for a card. Thus, my design came together and here’s my final card.

Here’s the inside, simple, but heartfelt for her loss.

I added a strip of the matching Dandy Garden DSP to the envelope to finish it off. I only hope it brings a comforting smile to her face to know that we care and are thinking of her right now.
Here’s the things you will need to make this card. It’s called a slim-line card and measures 7-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ before folding. Folded it measures 3-3/4″ x 8-1/2″. It fits in a normal business size envelope which makes it easy to mail. And here’s the supplies:

Fabulous flower! Thank you for sharing this week at FMS!
Thanks Judy. I’ve had these dies on my craft table for a while and decided I really needed to use them and up popped the FMS482 sketch. It was perfect.
Beautiful card for such a sad event. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks Karren! It seems that my last few entries for FMS are for sympathy cards…sad thought! Hopefully I’ll have a happy card entry for the next FMS sketch!
