I’ve often talked about how I use templates for creating my cards. They give me a starting point for inspiration for my cards. Once I have a layout in mind, I can spend my time playing with my various DSP, embellishments and stamp sayings to come up with something I like. As I’ve said many times, sometime the card just falls into place and other times I go through many ideas until I get one that I like. This past weekend’s SGGWWC template from Connie Stewart was one that as soon as I saw it, my card idea popped into my head. I just got my Candy Cane Lane DSP (don’t forget about the buy 3, get 1 free deal going on here!) and the papers choices are amazing. These two patterns just seemed to fit perfect for the template and card.
The base is Real Red with Whisper White and Crumb Cake accents. I stamped the greeting from the My Hero stamp set and heat embossed it one coolest new items in the new holiday catalog – the Glitter embossing powders in Real Red and Emerald Envy. OMG-I love they way they look! I’ve used the Real Red on multiple projects this past weekend! Next up, create a card using the Emerald Envy one! And, last but not least, I added rhinestones colored with my Real Red marker to add some bling to the front.
Here’s what you need to make this card. Meanwhile, I’m off to try to create a card for this week’s SGGWWC!
What a great layout, that sentiment is my favorite from that stamp set. The new sparkly embossing powder is amazing, it’s shimmery without the mess! Can’t wait to see the Emerald Envy version 🙂
