Tulips for Easter

March 24, 2021 2 Comments

When I was growing up my mom, aunt and grandmother all had tulips in their spring gardens. We knew it was finally spring with mostly warmer weather (although growing up in Omaha we were known to get snow even in May!) when the tulips started blooming.

When I realized Easter was just around the corner, I needed Easter cards to send to my family. I was inspired by a card I created last year with the Pleased as Punch DSP (see here). The first thing I did was pull out my Timeless Tulips stamp set and Tulip builder punch. I used a pack of Whisper White (old pack, new one is Basic White) note cards and envelopes and my Oh So Ombre SAB DSP and 2019 Brights DSP papers.

The SAB Oh so Ombre DSP had the beautiful spring colors, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green to compliment my Rococo Rose tulips. I use my Tulip Builder punch to create the front tulip out of the Rococo Rose DSP then used the Subtle embossing folder to add texture to the tulip. I stamped the smaller tulips from the Timeless Tulips stamps, also in Rococo Rose and the stems in Granny Apple Green. I fussy cut them out and added to my card. The punch tulip has dimensionals to pop it up. I stamped my Easter greeting on a piece for the Bermuda Bay DSP from the collection and die cut if with the Stitched Rectangles dies. I added a linen thread bow. Simple and quick card.

This next card used my 2019-20 Brights DSP for the spring colors of Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green. My tulip was punched in the Calypso Coral DSP with the Granny Apple Green calico print for the leaves. I layered it on the Daffodil Delight DSP script. My greeting was stamped in Calypso Coral ink on a Basic White tag and added to the DSP tag. This was popped up with dimensionals for effect. I added a triple bow tied with my leftover February Paper Pumpkin kit.

You can create these cards using a pack of the Note Cards & envelopes with this year’s Brights DSP patterns. Here’s the supplies you’ll need to create these quick Easter cards.
