I’m still working on alternative ideas to this month’s Blissful Blooms Paper Pumpkin kit. Today’s card uses the FMS348 sketch from several weeks ago for the layout.
I started with the below card base and cut it the front off (be sure to save the back for another card idea). Then I cut the card front across the top into a 1-3/4″ strip and did the same thing from the bottom. That left me with the center strip for another card idea. I then cut the top and bottom strips into 1-3/4″ squares, cutting from each side. This gave me the four 1-3/4″ squares I needed for my card and left me with 2 small pieces. Not sure what I will do with them, but give me a couple of days to think of a way to use them!
Here’s the results. The heart is from a scrap of Blackberry Bliss, the greeting is stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink and I added the Share What You Love artisan pearls for bedazzle. I stamped the greeting onto the card (before I dry embossed it with the Subtle TIEF).
And, an incredible tip/find – as I was picking up my greeting stamp, it accidentally slipped and dropped back onto the card. Sigh…now I had a faint image towards the bottom. I thought I would have to start over..hm, but wait. I saw my new Simply Shammy sitting on my craft table. I thought if it takes the ink off stamps, will it remove it from a cardbase? Worth a try before I had to redo the card. It WORKED!! Amazing! Now, my boo-boo image was light, but I carefully wiped it with the Simply Shammy and it disappeared. Not sure it will work on darker boo-boos, but you have to get one of these, if you haven’t already ordered one!
Here’s the additional supplies I used to make this alternative card. The punch set is retired, but you can cut a circle instead.
Let me if know if you try the Simply Shammy trick and whether it works! Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow I’ll show you how I used that middle piece in another card.
Don’t forget these specials – only good through Friday, August 31!
