Struggling with country flower gardens

March 9, 2016 Leave a Comment

As I’ve said several times over this last week, English country gardens are pretty, but definitely not my style in paper crafting and card making (and I’m not successful in growing real flowers either. Herbs, yes, flowers, no!). So I’ve been stumped how to use this striped card base and the flower wreath from the Cottage Greetings card kit to make a card more to my liking. Played with many different layouts, papers and ideas all last weekend to come up with this card.

It’s also a square card, not a usual size and layout I use for my cards. For me, I think it’s the wood layer that is giving me the most difficulty, it just doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the card. What you do you think? I’ll probably save these wooden squares and use them in some fun “guy” cards in the coming weeks. I may try to remake this card with a few different colors to see if any strike my fancy more! Any ideas on how to change it up?

I have not failed.  I’ve just found 10,0000 ways that won’t work!  Thomas Edison

So I’ll just keep trying until I create a card using these items that pleases me!
