This past weekend I decided to do use my December 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit to make a variety of cards to showcase the versatility of Paper Pumpkin kits! I was going to put the album together, but decided I really needed some pretty flower cards. The different sheets for the album all measured 5″ x 7″ and cut in half I had a 5″ x 3-1/2″ piece for my card fronts (doubling the number of cards I could make). Since each piece has a punched hole (to fit into the album), I cut most of the pieces to 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. This eliminated, or nearly so, the hole in the paper and fit the usual dimensions of our 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ cards.
One set of sheets (4 in all) had a lovely Smokey Slate flower garden and I used the bottom half on this card. I thought it would look great with additional flowers popped up over the print. Since the background was a subtle Smokey Slate, I chose several other subtle colors to finish the card. I’ll show you later this week how I used the top half of the other side, a Smokey Slate and Whisper White stripe, on another card.
My flowers were die cut using the Botanical Builder framelits (retiring May 31, but on 50% sale while supplies last!) in Daffodil Delight. The stamens were cut from Smokey Slate and I added the Daffodil Delight enamel shapes dots from the Brights collection. I framed the background with Lost Lagoon (retired In-Color, with matching ribbon) and Soft Sky. The greeting stamp comes from Basket Bunch, also retiring May 31 and on 20% off sale.
Another fast and easy card using the framelits and my Big Shot to do most of the work. Here’s what I used make this card:
Off to the next card from this set of my alternative uses of the Another Great Year Paper Pumpkin kit! And yes, despite my family medical problems, I’m hoping it’s going to be another great year!
