I really liked the idea of using our Stampin’ Up! DSP as a card base to create delightful patterned cards. This is my second card using this technique (see my first one here). This time I used the Birthday Bouquet DSP with it’s beautiful soft colors for my card.
One side is the beautiful camilla flowers (at least that’s what I think they are…I’m not a flower person other than I love getting them!) and the other side is the soft pastel Blushing Bride stripes which are peaking out on the bottom of the card. This card has a straight cut, my first one used a diagonal cut, you can see it here. When you open the card, here’s what you see:
Here’s another card front with a different greeting:
And here’s another card, but using a different print in this series. I love the polka dots on the inside.
The inside greeting panels are cut short enough that you don’t see them when the cards are closed. Here’s how I made the first card (the others are similar dimensions, just different color arrangements):
- Birthday Bouquet DSP cut 4″ x 10″, score it at 5-1/2″. NOTE: If you use a patterned paper that has a one way direction, be sure to score so that the flowers are facing the right direction when the card is closed!
- Pool Party, a 2-1/2″ square to cut the outside circle, and a 3-1/2″ x 4″ piece for the inside greeting
- Watermelon Wonder, a 2-1/4″ square to cut the middle circle, and a 3-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece for the inside greeting
- Blushing Bride, a 2″ sure to cut the inner circle, and a 3″ x 3-1/2″ piece for the inside greeting
Here’s what I used to make the card, although the Birthday Bouquet DSP is retired, we have several other current beautiful DSPs for you to choose from for a similar card.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I’ve given you some inspiration so that you are heading to your DSP stash to make some similar cards with your favorites designer papers!
