Well, I’m finally back after five months offline. My post will be a little long today so I can catch you up on my life and things going on, so please stick with me! We had to move our 90-year-old dad to a senior living community in June (after an entire year trying to convince him that it would be so much better for him to be around people and friends than living by himself after our mom died). He has early Alzheimer’s and we found a fantastic all-level card facility near his home. The first 2 months were really rough – he hated it and said he was “going to call Chris (one of his grandsons) to move him back home!” But he’s adjusted now to his one bedroom apartment with a beautiful view of a park from his 2nd story balcony. He’s also eating meals everyday, going to exercise classes, happy hour several times a week with the other residents and he’s gained back the 10 pounds he had lost from not eating at home. And he now says he loves it – whew!! I still need to call him every morning and evening to remind him to take his meds, but he’s doing well. We will eventually have to move him to the Alzheimer’s unit at the facility, but for now he’s managing with a little help from his daughters and the wonderful staff at The Delaney at Georgetown Village!!
So now that things have settle down with my dad I have time to get back to my card crafting after almost 6 months! And what a great month to get started back doing one of the things I love to do! First up…
