Slider cards are such a fun, interactive way to say Happy Birthday to someone special in your life. But they may be hard to design and create if you are starting from scratch. What if the card base was already done for you and all you had to do is put it together and stamp your favorite greeting? Well if you’re one of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers this month, you got just that in your current kit!! How cool is this?
If you missed out, here’s the video showing the kit and how easy it is to put together:

Here’s a shot of the finished slider cards, aren’t they so, so cute??!! They can be a birthday card, a gift card holder, or even an invite to a party!
But what if you don’t need or want slider cards? Not a problem, there are so many other things you can do with these cards using the different combinations of the rainbow colors: Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Island Indigo, Pool Party and Night of Navy.
The first alternative project – cut a 2-1/2″ strip off the bottom of the card (be sure to do that before you put them together or adding the inside slider card – you will need the top piece and slider card for another project!). Then cut that strip on the crease lines to create these cute 2-1/2″” x 2-1/2″ mini gift tags to go with your gift (just add the “To” and “From” on the white back). Add a small strip of the gold glitter paper you cut from the sides of the leftover candle cardstock.
My second alternative project is to cut a 3-1/4″ strip off the bottom of the card, again saving the top piece for another project. Using a coordinating cardstock color, cut a 2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece to go underneath the design paper to create a frame. Add this piece to one of Stampin’ Up! note cards (comes in a pack of 20 notecards with envelopes, see here). Now you have a birthday card! Actually you can create 18, yes 18 cards with this cut! WOW…you’ll still have 2 notecards with envelopes left, and you can still make 9 smaller gift card holders! That aught to do you for quite a few birthdays!
Now to use that bottom half of the card you saved from the earlier cuts. Close it like shows in the instructions (only now the card is shorter), add the pull card cut to fit and you have a small gift card holder. Just slip your gift card on the back of the pull tab so you don’t see it from the front!
Here’s what it looks like when you pull the tab. The one on the left, I stamped Happy, then slide it up so that the Happy was hidden and stamped the Birthday.
Or you can attach this cut piece to the front of a one of our Crumb Cake note cards (they also come 20 notecards with matching envelopes to a pack, see here), stamp the designs on the card, add a coordinating strip of cardstock for this festive look and you have another birthday card.
