I made two cards for last week’s FMS422 challenge, but forgot to link it to their website [see my Revisit of Sprinkled with Love]. So I was excited to see this week’s FMS423 challenge on Wednesday last week. I had lots of ideas for cards that I could create with this template.
Then that afternoon I got my February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. True to my vow to start on my Paper Pumpkin kits sooner rather than later, I opened it that evening. And it hit me…one of the cards fit the FMS423 template to a “T” without any planning! I chuckled realizing this wasn’t an original intent of the FMS challenges, but I needed a birthday card for my husband’s admin’s 60th birthday this week. And I wanted to create a card for the challenge. So one card for two purposes. I did mix up the PP pieces rather than use their suggested card design, so it’s my own unique combination. Remember, the challenges are only a suggestion to get you started and sometimes, it’s much easier than you ever imagined to create a card.
The Paper Pumpkin instructions put a birthday cake in the middle of the punched out circle and the flower was on another card. But I liked the flower here and added a row of sequins for the third strip of the design. I punched out the inside of the circle and rather than discard it, I adhered it to the card base. Then I popped up the card front with dimensionals before adding the flower, greeting banners and sequins. Yes, there were other banners on the card, and I added sequins to them also. So it’s close, with a twist. Thanks Paper Pumpkin and FMS423 for the inspiration for this birthday card!
Here’s the video for this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. I can’t wait to start playing with the rest of the cards to come up with alternative layouts! Stayed tuned for more ideas using this kit!

What a gorgeous flower and a clever way to use the Paper Pumpkin contents to make a card with the sketch. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Thanks Amy. It has been awhile since I made a card for FMS. Last week I was so excited that I got two cards made using the FMS422, but then so crushed that I forgot to post it. So I was really ready to create a card for this week and really had a laugh when my new Paper Pumpkin just screamed FMS423! Can’t wait for next week’s challenge to see if I have another brilliant idea!
