Yesterday I shared two of my fall crds using the Gilded Autumn and Love of Leaves bundles, see them here. Today’s cards use more of the gorgeous Gilded Autumn DSP and the Stitched Leaves dies again to make cutouts to let the DSP peek through.
My first card uses the leftover piece from the Cajun Craze leaf cut out on yesterday’s card. I knew I wanted to CASe another of the Stampin’ Up! catalog cards, so I cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock and die cut the large leaf for yesterday’s card from the middle. Hence two cards from one small piece of paper. I used a Very Vanilla card base, added a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of stripped Gilded Autumn DSP on top. After I cut the leaf out, I dry embossed the Cajun Craze piece with the new 3-D Tasteful Texture folder. I popped this up with dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from Beautiful Autumn stamp set on Soft Suede die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I added another triple bow (love my 10-second bow maker – makes multiple loops so easy and they look so pretty!).
Here’s the card I CASed:
Continuing with this idea, I made a second card but with a landscape-horizontal card base. The card base is Early Espresso to coordinate with the striped herring-bone Gilded Autumn DSP piece. I layered it on top of Very Vanilla to make it standout from the card base. Using a 4-1/2″ x 3-3/8″ piece of Very Vanilla, I die cut the large leaf out. Before I added the leaf, I sponged it with Early Expresso ink. It’s a little darker than I wanted, but it works. I added a piece of the Bumblebee ribbon behind the Stitched Rectangle greeting tag. I also added a few of the In-Color enamel dots.
I’m having so much fun with these new Stitched Leaves dies and the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP, they make my cards really stand out! More to come!
Here’s what I used to make these cards:
