Have you seen the new Animal Outing suite in the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog? I thought it was really fun suite, but wasn’t sure if I use the stamp set and thinlits very often. But I did get the Animal Expedition designer series papers during the DSP sale last month. And, oh I am having fun with the paper! When I saw Jennifer Timko’s card entry for last week’s FMS439 sketch, the Animal Expedition DSP jumped out and begged me to make a card.
Here’s my take on the FMS349 sketch.
I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the card base and dry embossed it with the Layered Leaves TIEF to subtly continue the jungle theme. I fussy cut the giraffe with the branch and frog and then layered over another strip of DSP paper to matched the other two frogs on a branch. I popped the giraffe up on dimensionals for a 3-D effect. I stamped the “birthday wishes” from the Varied Vases stamp set in Momento black ink directly on to the DSP. It’s such a fun card for either a special child in your life, or that fun friend who’s always doing crazy things!
Here’s what I used to make this card.
What do you think of the Animal Expedition DSP? Thanks for stopping by today! Happy stamping this week.
The frog lineup is adorable! And I do love that giraffe too! Cute card! Glad you joined us at FMS!
Thanks, as always, Linda for your comments. I have several more ideas on how to use this DSP in a card and I’m hoping one will fit this week’s new FMS sketch!
