Saturday evening we were supposed to spend the evening with dear friends at their Galveston Bay house for dinner. Friday night I texted to make sure all would be well with a possible hurricane heading into southeast coast of Texas. They said everything should be okay, but they’d let us know Saturday morning. Saturday morning I woke up to a text with this picture. Oh my, our friend was standing in ankle deep water which also covered their lower dock and yard with more storm surge coming. That was where we were going to have happy hour and eat dinner.
Instead they came to Houston see us for dinner. We had a delightful dinner and time catching up with them since we haven’t seen them since before the social distancing started. Meanwhile the weather forecast now says the storm will not intensify to a hurricane, but never say never on hurricanes. We’ll see; storm surge was already 3-5 feet at 1 pm Sunday.
Meanwhile in the middle of the night last night, I work up with a card idea in my head for the FMS453 sketch. Do you ever do that? I decided against getting up to make it then. My sweet hubby did wake up and asked me if I needed a piece of paper to sketch it out right then and there! LOL-I said no, I’d stored it away in my head until morning.
So here’s the card I made using the Playful Pets suite. My BIL and SIL have 2 German Shepherds and 2 Finnish Lapland and I wanted to make this for them.
I fussy cut the GSD and his ball out of the Playful Pets DSP. I played around with the card colors, Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White and decided the white on white made the dog and DSP stand out. I’m glad I was able to turn my middle of the night idea into this fun card!
Back to more crafting since it’s started raining. Can’t do much else with all the expected rain now through at least Tuesday. Fingers-crossed that it stays a tropical storm and goes through quickly. Meanwhile I hope you have a great week stamping and creating your projects. I’m expecting my September Paper Pumpkin kit to be delivered Monday afternoon (if weather cooperates). I’m always one of the last to receive my kit and can’t wait to dive into it! Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t say “dive in” since we may have high water!

Oh my! I am glad they could come to your house!
Your card is great! I have had bouts of creativity at night — I have a notebook by my bed. I never remember otherwise.

Thanks Judy! Usually my ideas come earlier in the day. I was surprised by this idea in the middle of the night, but also glad I was able to create the card as I saw in my head!
