I’m back at trying to use up old Paper Pumpkin kits that I have left. I usually make at least one of the designated projects in each kit so I have an example, but then I try to see what else I could make with them. Hence the stack of yet completed kits seem to stack up waiting for creative ideas. February 2015 Paper Pumpkin (I did say I was really behind on some!) was called “Layers of Gratitude” and seemed so appropriate for a Thanksgiving banner decoration. What do you think?
I pulled out my retired Simply Created Chalkboard banner kit (#133795) for the banner flags, a perfect fit I thought. The “Thanks” is from the orange felt letters from the Layers of Gratitude kit. I layered them on Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow and my retired Into the Woods DSP. I made the “GIVE” using the new Large Letters dies from Tangerine Tango and did the same layering of colors as the banner. The Island Indigo flowers were part of the banner kit. And I have enough left over to make several more banners as gifts to my sisters. For the others (I can make 8 in all!) I will use my Banners framelits to cut the Basic Black banner background.
Most of what I used is retired, but you can substitute these current items to create a similar banner for Thanksgiving or even Christmas holidays! Oh, and then there’s Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter…and on it goes! Year round banners for your door! Happy crafting!!
