Yes, another Daisy card. Now that I’ve finally gotten around to using this Daisy punch, I’ve made a lot, yes a lot of daisies! So I have to find ways to use them all! I’ve had this pattern from Delightful Daisy DSP sitting on my craft week for several weeks just waiting for the perfect idea for a card. When I saw this week’s FMS327 sketch, I knew today was that day.
I’m practicing on creating more simple cards, letting the paper and one focal point make a big statement. If you’ve been following me over the last couple of years, you know that is a hard task for me. I love layers, embellishments and bling mixed in with bright colors. But the FMS sketches are all about “clean and simple” cards, so I’m practicing.
Here’s the card I created yesterday with the Night of Navy background with tiny rows of daisy chains. Did you do that when you were young? Take daisies or dandelions, slit the stem and inset another one, continuing until you had a flower necklace? Yup, I was always creating, taking after my crafty and creative mom.
I started with a Whisper White card base, adding a Night of Navy frame layer before adding another layer of Whisper White. I overlaid the DSP over that. The delightful white daisy was a leftover from my crazed daisy making spree last week! I went through all my Big Shot dies to find just the perfect sized saying for the card and landed on this one from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits. I cut out two, one in Night of Navy and the other in Whisper white to have the contrast. That’s it, simple, quick and easy, but I love it, don’t you?
Here’s what I used to make this card.
Thanks for stopping by today to visit today. Have a great weekend stamping! We’re off to the opening of Michelangelo and the Vatican: Masterworks from the Museo e Real Bosco di Capondimonte in Naples, Italy. We got to see some of these paintings when we were in Naples a few years ago. It will fun to see them again here in Houston. Then Saturday we are heading over to the Houston Rodeo – the largest rodeo in the U.S. or so they claim. It’s an annual event that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime! “Happy trails to you!”
