Fall simplicity for FMS503 sketch

September 19, 2021 2 Comments

I love creating cards each week with the Freshly Made Sketches. Whenever I get stuck for an idea I go there for inspiration – works every time! I already had several cards planned in my head earlier in the week and was surprised to see this week’s sketch matched my idea cards. The design team read my mind – LOL!

Today, I’m sharing two of my cards. One just uses stamps, ink, and paper. The idea came from watching Sara Douglass’ (Stampin’ Up! CEO) weekly FB-Live. I loved the look and was ready to try using the All Squared Away stamps, one ink color, and stamping 3 times without reinking. I tried a number of ink colors before deciding Pumpkin Pie ink was my favorite. Using two different retired die sets (Gathered Leaves and Stitched Seasons) I cut the falling leaves in Cajun Craze, Bumblebee, and Cinnamon Cider. This is the card result of that idea.

I was also finishing a set of cards using Dandy Garden DSP for a card swap. I had a variety of leftover scraps that just happen to be the perfect size for my next card idea. The squares are die cut using the Stitched Shapes dies (so sad they retired, but glad I have a set!). The leaf branch was cut from one of the Sunflowers dies. Again, I cut many different colors and ended up with Cinnamon Cider being my favorite one.

I had a lot of fun creating these two cards which came together very quickly with such a simple sketch. I hope you enjoy my two fall cards and maybe you’ll be inspired to create some of your own!

Thanks for stopping by today. If you don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours. Just hop over to my site to shop. Hugs to all of you, and happy stamping!

Thanks Karren. I loved this sketch, especially since I already had something like this in my mind! The sketch just motivated me to make it into a card.
