I’m onto my next Paper Pumpkin kit, the March 2016 “Pocketful of Cheer”. Lots of cute cards and gift card holders in this kit just as they are shown.
But, you know me…what can I do that’s a little different? These kit pieces have been on my crafting table for 2 weeks now as I tossed around ideas for alternatives cards.
The regular sized cards in the pack were printed on both front and back, so I cut them in half, and now I have at least twice the possibilities! I had this beautiful Bermuda Bay stripes and stars from the retired Birthday Bash DSP sitting out on my table waiting to use it on something, and this was the something!
Although I only used a small piece of the kit, leaving me lots more to play with for other ideas, I was quite pleased with it. It uses just Bermuda Bay and Whisper White (and a pop of Silver for the “celebration” factor). The small rectangle in the middle with the saying is from the original card base, just cut down quite a bit (so I got 6 cards for a class out of 2 card bases!). The card base it Bermuda Bay, and I love the stripe layer with stars from the matching star paper. And since it’s a celebration card…what better way to celebrate that than with a sprinkling of stars from the Star border punch!
Many of the things I used in this card are from retired Stampin’ Up! products. But use this card as a template to create your own, there are so many alternative products you can choose here.
QUOTE FOR THE DAY:
Sometimes an appropriate quote just isn’t there, like today. But I hope you enjoyed my card and you use it as a template to create your own creation!
