I’ve been quite busy this last month with little time to do my usual stamping. But the 2024-25 Stampin’ Up! annual catalog’s group of Mix & Match products enabled me to quickly make a few cards just before I left on vacation. These cards use the Calming Creek cards & matching envelopes. Pair them with the coordinating ephemera packs to make great all occasion cards, especially for those hard to make masculine cards. Watch for my post on all the Mix & Match options available.
My first card uses what you would think would be a more masculine card base but the addition of a beautiful pink flower and banner makes a gorgeous card. The Fully Flowering, Labels & Layers, and Saying Something ephemera packs helped make it quick and easy.
For my second card, I used the wreath from the “Something for Everything” ephemera pack as the centerpiece. I pencil marked where I wanted the wreath to appear, then die cut the front of the card with the Deckled Circle dies. I adhered the die cut circle to the inside so that it was visible once the card was closed, and adhered the wreath on the outside over the circle with dimensionals. You should be able to see the words inside.
The Pool Party crosshatch card outside became the inside for my fun-fold card. Score the card front 2-1/8″ from the edge and fold this piece back so the entire card design shows when it is closed. I chose another of the flowers and several leaf groups to attach to the front. Center it so that it overhangs the edge. On the inside cut the white end of the tag, and add the words on top. Center the flower on the card front. (Be sure to not add glue on the overhanging piece, which I almost did!) Add a small butterfly with a dimensional on the inside, so that it looks like it is fluttering over the flower when the card is closed.
My last card used the Misty Moonlight hatched card base. After folding the card base, cut the right-hand side at 1-1/4″ to the fold line. Glue this small right-hand piece to the card base for a fun-fold opening. Add the blue tag (that looked like a pond) with two sailboats in the middle, and the Thanks tag. Inside add two of the fish to make it more masculine.
Altogether each card took less than 5 minutes to put together, and I got my card making fix. Let these examples spark your creativity to make birthday, congratulations, thank you, or thinking of you cards. I love the Calming Creek Mix & Match cards & envelopes with the matching ephemera packs. I hope you enjoyed my creations today. Be sure to check out all the Mix & Match products on pages 18-21 in the catalog, or see them online.
