Another week, another sketch! Back to my bright color schemes this week.
I pulled out the Bubbles & Fizz DSP, FREE from Stampin’ UP!’s Sale-a-bration catalog. I tried not to over think this card. I had it cut and put together in less than 20 minutes, start to finish! Isn’t it great when that happens??!!
I used a Lemon Lime Twist card base with the fun bubbles as an under layer frame. But before I taped it down, I cut the small bubbles square from the middle of the under layer. It’s a way to stretch the use of the papers, and no one will ever know there a “hole” in that layer. Except of course, now you know since I spilled the beans!
Then I laid the 2nd largest square from the Stitched Shapes down on the strip layer, and put a smaller Layering Squares dies inside to get the placement I wanted on the card. When I was satisfied with where it was, I carefully removed the Stitched Shape and cut the square from the strip layer. Uh-oh, you say…big hole on the front of my card. Nope, the Lemon Lime Twist stitched square covers the hole! Once I had all three square layers cut and adhered together, I used dimensionals to pop them up over the “hole”. You can’t see it even when you look from the side!
I stamped the greeting from Sunshine Sayings and cut the banner ends with my retired Banner Punch. It sounds like a lot of complicated steps, but it really isn’t. Here’s what I used to make this card:
Thanks for stopping by today. Drop by on Monday when I’ll share another card from this sketch that I made. It’s another birthday card with a twist, a hip, hip, hooray birthday twist.
