I love the simplicity of last week’s FMS273 sketch and was pleased with my card. I even managed to leave the background unembossed, and unadorned (WOW!). That’s a rare thing for me. This year’s Sending Love DSP stack has some really pretty red & white papers that I’m using a lot on my cards. It was easy to pick the three designs I would use on this card and got it put together very quickly, until…. (stay with me for another one of my bloopers!). My strips of design paper are larger than the template, but I love them so much I wanted “more”.
I had the card all laid out, laid the paper square down to see where to stamp my greeting. But, oops…I stamped it too high and it didn’t look right. So to cover my mistake, I restamped it on a banner, add an Real Red enamel heart shape on there, suing dimensional on both to make them stand out.
All done, or so I thought. I put the design and greeting on the card upside down, e.g. the card opened on the left, not the right. Ah, did I mention that I was recovering from the flu? I swear I laid it on my craft table right side up. For a second or two I thought about leaving it and sending it my nieces who would find it funny, but decided I had to correct it. So I pulled off the center design and greeting banner. Luckily it came off without leaving any marks. I flipped the card right side up (and double-checked to make sure the opening was on the right!), and put it back together. Here’s to another blooper that I was able to fix!
Card dimensions are really easy:
- Whisper White card base cut 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half
- Real Red background cut 5-1/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White cut at 5″ x 3-3/4″
- Real Red frame cut at 2-1/2″ x 2-5/8″
- Basic Black frame cut 2-3/8″ x 2-1/2″
- Sending Love pieces are each 2-1/4″ x 3/4″
Here’s the supplies I used for this card:
