So I’ve been working on alternatives for my February 2016 Hello Sunshine Paper Pumpkin kit. The airy peel and stick flower from this card left shadow pieces from the cutout. And I thought it was such a waste to just toss those, so I created this card. Now, I have to tell you it wasn’t as easy as the usual Paper Pumpkin cards…I had to peel each tiny piece from the back and stick it onto the card stock. I did the flower outline first to give me a starting template and then just rotated the card stock and the backing to keep peeling the pieces. So it’s not exactly round, and not exactly as it originally was on the white backing in the kit. But I am surprised and very pleased that it worked so well. And I have an extra card out of “throw-away” pieces!
I added a layered flower punched with my Blossom Bunch punch from scraps of Blackberry Bliss, Pool Pary and Tangerine Tango and a Pearl gem on top. The gold leaves are peel and stick from the kit. I’m working on ideas using the gold shadow pieces from the swirl card, but that’s a bigger challenge since there’s not an outline to work with like the flower. Check back to see if I succeed on this challenge.
QUOTE FOR THE DAY:
The bigger the challenge, the bigger the opportunity.
And by challenging myself to use the scraps from this kit, I’ve created more cards that originally planned! Such a bonus.
