Another Lone Star quilt pattern, but this time as the focus of the card. Isn’t it gorgeous?!
Too much work you say? Not so! This is one of the patterns from the Quilted Christmas DSP. There are 4 of these on one sheet so I cut them into 4 individual squares. And then the magic happens. I used the Quilt Builder framelits die to create the “stitching” on the star like a real quilt, then layered it on top of a Whisper White square. That’s it! Your focus piece is done and ready to add to your card! I layered a piece of Garden Green cardstock embossed with the Quilt Top textured embossing folder on top of my card base to give it a quilted look. The tag bands were layered Real Red, Whisper White and Garden Green. I cut my greeting using the retired Christmas Greetings thinlits. If you don’t have that retired set, you can use any one of a number the current Christmas sayings, including the “Peace” from the Christmas Quilt stamp set, stamped on the band.
Here’s what I used to make this card:
Thanks for stopping by! I love hearing from each of you about my card creations! Tomorrow, I can’t wait to show you my Quilted Baby cards. I wanted to show you how you can use this Christmas set to make everyday cards for lots of different occasions!
So pretty – I wouldn’t have known you used the DSP for the center star, that sure makes it fast to crank out several in a hurry. Can’t wait to see your baby cards using similar supplies!
I know, it looks hard to do, but it was so easy! Thanks Deepa
