Practicing social isolation hasn’t been a problem for me up to now. Since I retired I spend most of my time in my craft room, alone – LOL. But my poor husband it going crazy not being able to go to his office. That said, he is retired and doesn’t have to go in, but he loves his work and since he was appointed Distinguished Emeritus Professor he gets to keep his office to write and publish his research and manage several journals. Yes, he can do it at home, but he likes his “in-office” routine. So, I’m spending more time in my craft room, giving him plenty of room to give him the feeling of going to the office!
So with more time in my craft room, I took the FMS427 template and created 5 cards (again…see my FMS426 cards!) instead of just one. What do you do with extra time other than clean out closets and drawers? CRAFT more! BTW-kids love being creative and crafting – give them some crafting challenges using common household items and see what they do!
My first card was actually the last one I did, but I like it the best. It’s hard to see the embossing on the card base from the Scripty 3-D folder. The striped paper is from the Peaceful Poppies DSP, and the die cuts are in Old Olive using the Painted Labels dies from that suite. I tried a number of different flowers from the DSP and ended up using one of the suite’s die cut flowers. The greeting comes from the Well Said stamps. At the last minute I added the linen thread tied into a bow…it just seemed to need that little something extra.
The next three cards used my pack of Delightfully Detailed note cards and envelopes that was setting on my table. I decided they would be a great background for the FMS427 challenge. I laid out all 3 at the same time, playing with DSP options and sayings back & forth until I had layouts I liked. The first one uses the Birthday Bonanza DSP and the Balloon punch. I added a few of the Sale-a-Bration Metallics sequins (sold out very quickly!) and a saying from the Well Written dies.
The next one used the Blackberry Bliss background note card with a retired Succulent Garden DSP piece and a leftover heart from the I’ll Bee Yours Paper Pumpkin kit. The greeting comes from the Well Said stamp set.
This third card used the Macaron Mint note cards, another retired DSP piece and flowers, lots of flowers. Using the Small Blooms punch from Sale-a-Bration, I created Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight flowers. I pulled out my stash of Candy Dots (remember those….very long retired, but I both I lot since I loved them) to add the centers on the flowers. I punch a Daffodil Delight butterfly, add small pearls along with sold out Sale-a-Bration sequins.
I switched to full size Whisper white card base and the Sweet Soiree DSP. I haven’t used this DSP much and needed a elegant anniversary card. I added some Wink of Stella clear to the greeting but it doesn’t show up well in the picture.
And so I made myself quit with these 5 cards. And my husband was “calling” me to come down for dinner – he’s our wonderful cook/chef! Hope you enjoy these FMS427 cards today. Stay safe at home and avoid boredom by crafting!!
