Washi tape everything and everywhere!

August 18, 2016 1 Comment

Another thing I tend to have a lot of –  my washi tape collection. Yes, collection since I think I have every set of washi tape that Stampin’ Up! has ever had – LOL! I’m trying to find alternative ways to use a lot of it up since I can only make so many cards with washi tape! In perusing Pinterest for ideas, one idea popped up that fit this week’s theme – boxes! And boy, as I said earlier this week, I have boxes, lots of boxes. Today’s box is the little 2×2 Kraft boxes that are such a fun little size. I pulled a variety of washi tapes out and here’s my box:

It so happens that these washi tapes are retired, but there are so many new washi tapes…sigh. I wrapped the entire box, overlapping the layers ever so slightly so the box doesn’t show through. On top I wanted something distinctive. At first I was trying to figure out how to add birthday balloons so they stood up, but it wasn’t working. As I was contemplating ideas, I remembered my stash of beautiful turquoise tissue paper from all my Paper Pumpkin kits (yes, I save them!). A flower – OMG, that would be great. I used my Flower Fair framelits to cut out multiple layers of flowers, scrunched them, and added them to the top of the box with a button brad (retired from many moons ago!!). Isn’t it just too, too cute and frou-frou for a special little girl’s treat?

Stop by tomorrow to see a past treat box kit from Stampin’ Up! And watch for new box and bag kits that are available in the current annual catalog and coming out in the new Holiday catalog, September 2.

I have a pile of all my tissue paper too, it’s too pretty to throw away! I have a ton of those little 2×2 boxes, and a sizeable washi collection as well … this is a great idea to start using up my stash 🙂
