Pick 6 One Sheet Wonder – Quilt Cube cards

July 6, 2021 Leave a Comment

Last week I attended an online FB stamp-along with Shannon West from Stampin’ Up! It was so much fun and I love the cards I made from Shannon’s “Pick 6 Wonder” template. She gave us a list of supplies – pick six 6″ x 6″ DSP papers and coordinating cardstock for the card base. I pick the Boho Indigo DSP from the Product Medley suite. I loved the Navy and White/Very Vanilla designs but hadn’t used all the DSP.

Today I’m sharing the cards I made with the Design 1 Cubes template. I call it a quilted cube since it reminds me of quilt blocks. It took me a little time to get the pairs of DSP that I like best, but then the cards were easy to put together!

My first card used a Very Vanilla card base, the basic Design 1 Cube template, an “In Bloom” stamped greeting, and a Night of Navy velvet ribbon bow.

For my second card, I switched to Night of Navy card base and added a scalloped Layering Square in Very Vanilla on top. This time I used the “Lovely You” stamp set greeting then added a knotted velvet ribbon below the greeting.

Of course, I couldn’t just stop with the basic design. For my next card on a Night of Navy card base, I added a scalloped Layering Square of Very Vanilla under the DSP quilt cube. I stamped another greeting from “Lovely You” in VersaMark and added Stampin’ emboss white powder to heat embossed it. I added extra bling with several Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

My last card was a redesign inspiration from a miscut on one of my 6″ x 6″ sheets. Somehow, I accidentally cut one of the Design #1 into a 2-1/4″ by 2-1/2″ piece. So I cut a new sheet with the correct dimensions but used the “booboo” piece under the 4 quilt piece. I added a heart within a heart in Very Vanilla and Night of Navy for my greeting from the Lovely You stamp set.

You don’t need many supplies for these cards, just DSP, cardstock, ribbon, and adhesive. It’s a great way to use some of your gorgeous Designer Series Papers and get a lot of cards! What DSP will you choose to make your cards? The possibilities are endless! Tomorrow I’ll share the cards I made with Design #2. Come see what I created! Meanwhile, pick your six sheets of 6″ x 6″ DSP and get ready to create some cards!

The template was easy to follow and makes 14 cards with just six 6″ x 6″ sheets of DSP.

Need more DSP? What? I thought we were trying to use up our stash! But who can resist a 15% sale on nine of the current Designer Series Papers in our annual 2021-22 catalog? The sale is from July 1 – August 2! Take a look at all the possibilities for your cards with this design.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours. Just hop over to my site to shop. Hugs to all of you, and happy stamping!
