Happy Easter, everyone!

March 27, 2016 Leave a Comment

Happy-easter

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Easter celebration if you celebrate this holiday. If not, I hope you are having a wonderful spring weekend! And to my friends in Colorado, I hope the snow was gone in time for the Easter egg hunts!

No cards to post since the kids and grandkids are here for the weekend, but I am sharing the scavenger hunt I prepared for my teenage grandkids. When I asked the 12 year old what she wanted this year, she said the scavenger hunt like last year (too old for the traditional egg hunt they said – LOL)! So that’s what they are getting today. I used the nursery rhyme “one, two, buckle my shoe” as the basis of my clues with some minor adaptations to fit where I was hiding them. And, I had to create two sets of clues, one for each so they were hunting in different places. I color coded the clues, hot pink for the granddaughter and turquoise for the grandson, just in case they came across the wrong clue! Can’t wait to see how easily they find their clues! Should keep them busy for at least 30 minutes – I made it harder this year since they are 12 and 15 now! Here’s the clues I created for them to find their Easter treats at the end.

Granddaughter’s clues:
One, two, tie my shoe;  That’s where you’ll find your first clue.
Three, four, Open a door;  And look behind on the first floor.
Five, six, Pick up sticks;  Now you’ll need to find some toothpicks.
Seven, eight, Lay them straight;  So be quick and find a gate.
Nine, ten, a big, fat hen;  Your next clue is with a pen.
Eleven, twelve, you can dig;  In Grandma’s basket so big.
Thirteen, fourteen, Maids a-courting;  But where to find find something sportin’.
Fifteen, sixteen, Maids in the kitchen;  Meanwhile, grandma’s a stitchin’.
Seventeen, eighteen, Maids a-waiting;  For you to finish a-weighing.
Nineteen, twenty, my clues are finished;  You’ll find your prize with the spinach.

Grandson’s clues:
One, two, tie my shoe;  Your first clue is with grandma’s zoo.
Three, four, Open a door;  And find things to pour.
Five, six, Pick up sticks;  So now you’ll need to find the Vicks.
Seven, eight, Lay them straight;  Now be quick and find a plate.
Nine, ten, a big, fat hen;  Your next clue is with the cayenne.
Eleven, twelve, you can dig;  Where you find Dziadzi’s (grandpa in Polish) fig.
Thirteen, fourteen, Maids a-courting;  But where to find someone who’s transporting.
Fifteen, sixteen, Maids in the kitchen;  Meanwhile, find the fiction.
Seventeen, eighteen, Maids a-waiting;  For you to finish all the grating.
Nineteen, twenty, my clues are finished;  Your prize is with flowers diminished (all our azalea blooms are almost gone).

QUOTE FOR THE DAY:
Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life.  Janine di Giovanni

May all these things come true for you and everyone around the world! Thanks for following along with me on my blog.
