Gold adds sparkle to Christmas Holly wreath

September 28, 2015 1 Comment

Yesterday’s cards and a design from the Stampin’ Up ! annual catalog inspired this card.  This time I used the Holly Berry design from the Home for Christmas DSP and cut out the wreath with the Wonderful Wreath framelit dies. I needed a small print that would complement the Holly Berry paper. Back to my retired stash since I couldn’t find one that I liked in my current DSP. Finally decided on the small dots paper, from long ago. I love it when I can dig through to resurrect old favorites to go with my new current favorites. I chose Cherry Cobbler as the card base, layered the papers and wrapped the Gold Cording trim around 3 times to create an accent behind the wreath. I stamped the greeting in Gold encore ink and heat embossed it with Gold emboss powder.

When I finished this card I decided to use this layout for a fall card for Connie Stewart’s Saturday’s SGGW challenge card, see that post from Saturday here.

I love the way you tied on the gold cording, that is the perfect accent leading you from the wreath to the sentiment banner. That piece of DSP was perfect for giving you a wreath without any stamping. Love it!
