Flowers, and more flowers…I’m pushing my creativity envelope!

March 10, 2016 10 Comments

Give me a challenge and sometimes it burrows in and I just have to keep trying until I can do it! As you know, flowers, country gardens and soft color cards are always a challenge for me. I have the Wildflower Fields designer paper from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and I’m determined to try to use it in several cards. So when I saw this week’s MOJO438 challenge and then saw the #SSINKCC31 challenge I figured I could combine the two and make one card with….flowers for Easter.

Easter-Flowers-MOJO438-SSINKCC31

The #SSINKCC31 color challenge used two colors I rarely use, Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette along with Lost Lagoon, one of my favorites. And the MOJO438 layout with it’s large circle was another stretch for me. Looking through my Wildflower Fields paper this flowered background just begged to be put on the Lost Lagoon card base. Although the deep color in the paper is actually Blackberry Bliss, I thought the Rich Razzleberry circle blended in very nicely. I added the border of Pink Pirouette behind the strip of raindrops (at least that’s what they look like to me) and behind my Easter greeting. Then I added the flower made with layers of all three colors. And, I did it! Another English country garden card I like! Hmmm, maybe I can do soft, flowery cards every now and then.

Thanks Jennifer! As I was laying this out I was trying to find a sentiment and remembered I need Easter cards and what better for Easter than flowers.
