Cheers to FMS#309 challenge

October 23, 2017 4 Comments

I’ve been working on Christmas cards and showing the versatility of the new stamps sets, but today’s card was a last minute deviation of my traditional Christmas colors cards to enter this week’s Freshly Made Sketches #309 challenge. It just spoke to me and I loved how my first non-traditional colors Christmas card turned out with this sketch!

This card also uses a number of non-Christmas themed pieces, again showing how you can use many of Stampin’ Up! products for a variety of holidays and occasions! The greeting (a Sale-a-bration stamp set) was stamped with VersaMark ink then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. I loved this stamp set’s “Cheers” greeting. So sad it isn’t available, but you can easily substitute one of the new Every Good Wish sayings. I cut out the Very Vanilla oval and the Night of Navy scalloped oval using the Layering Oval framelits.

I added a large gold doily from Stampin’ Up!’s lovely Metallic Foil Doilies under the greeting with the Gold Metallic Thread. The gorgeous designed paper? It’s one of the Eastern Palace speciality DSP! Very non-Christmas, but looks so elegant on this holiday card. I layered a piece of Night of Navy cardstock over a piece of Gold Foil paper and all of that on top of my Night of Navy card base. A very simple, and elegant card. This will be one of the cards in my upcoming non-traditional Holiday Card stamp a stack, see my website for the dates.
