During last month’s designer series paper sale, I bought several DSP sets the I was on the fence about adding to my abundant paper stash. But a bargain is a bargain, especially in crafting supplies, right fellow paper crafters?! Garden Impressions was one of them, but now that I’m looking at all the prints, they are so bright, happy and use all the colors I love to use in my cards. Who knew, not me apparently, until now. I used last week’s FMS349 sketch and pulled two of the papers to create today’s card. It’s not the simple, clean layout that the sketches suggest because I used the Night of Navy abstract paper as the background. But it does follow their sketch.
I used a So Saffron card base and layered the Night of Navy abstract directly onto it. I chose the So Saffron-blue flowers paper for the band and cut it so that I could add a vase with a flower floating above it. I used the Vases Builder punch to punch several different colored vases before ending up with the So Saffron. I stamped the vase outline from the Varied Vases stamp set in Memento black ink. The vase was popped up over the layer with the stems coming out so I could add the fussy cut flower from the DSP. The greeting is also from the Varied Vases stamp set. A simple, but dramatic card because of the abstract paper.
Here’s what I used to make this card.
Thanks for stopping by today. Which of my 3 FMS349 sketch cards (here, here and today’s) do you like the best?
