On Film, a photographer’s BD card

I’ve finally gotten back into my craft room, cleaned it up, reorganized things and started making cards again after some time off for family and work. One of the things I organizied was all the card projects from previous classes or partially completed cards that I needed to finish. I put them into 3 container organizers (yes, there are a lot!) to look at when I needed a quick card.

Last week was one of those days. My brother-in-law (BIL) shares a birthday today with my 91 year old dad (see his card here). My BIL is a wonderful photographer with lots of cameras, and this cameras DSP (long retired, “I am me” from 2013!) leaped out at me. I had the card base and the front already done, and I just added more photograph elements using my “On Film” framelits (also retired)! When I showed it to my husband, I got a “thumbs up” for hitting it on the head.

I thought the “?” added a funny touch to the card, with a hint of what’s inside?  I hope my BIL enjoys the card. I actually got it in the mail last week so it should arrive on time (a miracle for me, I’m always late with cards!).

When my BIL opens it up, he’ll see the old Polaroid frame (not that he ever, ever had a Polaroid – that was my husband’s, the non-photographer, go to camera). And with the Happy Birthday framelits statement the card didn’t need anything else.

I added a piece of the Birthday Memories DSP birthday cakes, balloons and party hats to the envelope flap. Not cameras, but it was birthday stuff.

The card base was leftover from my original September 2013 Paper Pumpkin kit. In addition, I added:

Thanks for stopping by today!

What a great card, I bet your BIL loves it! Those were some fun products – isn’t it fun to revisit old favorites and make something new? 🙂 I miss crafting with you all too – I haven’t found a good group here to tap into yet.
