Yesterday I shared my card for the FMS325 challenge. You can see it here. And I said I had another idea floating in my head that I was putting together. Well, that didn’t quite go as planned. I had picked a delicate flower pattern from the Delightful Daisy DSP that I thought would look lovely with a butterfly. Spent several hours trying different color card bases, all from the colors in the DSP. Calpyso Coral, Daffodil Delights, Old Olive, Pool Party and they all seemed to harsh a contrast with the card idea in my mind. Here’s some of my many color combinations I tried yesterday.
I finally gave up and went to bed. I figured today was a new day. Got up this morning with an idea and finally landed on Wisteria Wonder. This is a long time, soft purple of Stampin’ Up!’s pastel collection, but not one I usually use. I like the way it looked under the print as my “frame” but it looked horrible on the top of all the above cardstock colors. So I tried a Wisteria Wonder card base and WOW…it worked! What do you think?
I wasn’t sure if it was worth adding the same color under the print as a frame, but I liked the way it look, especially when I popped it up with dimensionals. I added the paper doily underneath, the birthday greeting from Cool Treats, and a tiny strip of leftover dimensionals’ side pieces underneath to pop up the butterfly. After looking at it, I decided the butterfly needed a little bling, so I added some tiny pearls. Here’s the final card with the pearls, I think they finished the card beautifully.
On the inside I added a strip of the DSP and I’ll add an appropriate greeting when I decide who will receive this gem.
Here’s what I used to make the card:

What a beautiful card! I love that butterfly and think the Wisteria Wonder is a great choice! I also can make several “rounds” of a card before I have a finished product!!! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

Thanks Linda! I enjoy participating in the FMS challenges and that I finally will have time to get back to participating. And I was happy I could use one of the almost dozen different butterflies that I cut out to try to use on yesterday’s card – LOL!
