Bicycle over to my place! Paper Pumpkin August 2011 kit

Did I mention I was behind on some of my Paper Pumpkin kits? This was one of the early kits (August 2011) that I couldn’t decide what to do with it. It was so plain compared to my usual card style so it sat languishing in my crafting area for a while, well more than a little while. I did use the stamps from the kit for many other cards I created, but not the note cards and embellishments. But that bicycle stamp has disappeared somewhere in my craft room. Can’t blame it on young children (as my friend Lekki – – did when her son hid some of her stamps among her supplies and his toys). But I do have my sweet Lexie (cat) who loves to craft with me. By that I mean she sits on my crafting counter waiting for me to “abandon” items I’ve been using to make my cards. And whenever I’m distracted doing something else, she decides that her cue to pick up whatever is out in her mouth, take it to the floor and begin to bat it around as a play toy. I suspect that’s how the stamp mysteriously disappeared! She loves my rubber stamps! I even posted a FB video of Lexie using her paw to pry out one of my baskets with the extra rubber from my stamps. I’d push it back, she’d pull it back out and dig them out. It’s really fun to have her “craft” with me!

So when when I decided to use this Paper Pumpkin kit as one of my Paper Pumpkin “Smorgasbord” class, I looked through all my retired Stampin’ Up! designer series papers to find something that would enhance the cards. Ah… I found this wonderful bicycle paper (to replace that missing bicycle stamp!) from the “Birthday Basics” DSP which I love and use all the time. I knew it what I needed to make this a great card. What do you think?

Some of these products are retired, but I wanted to share what I used to make this Paper Pumpkin alternative card. I love the way it turned out and wish I had made it sooner when the extra kits were still in stock!

Yay! So excited to see that you have a blog now 🙂 I’ve been a paper pumpkin subscriber since the beginning and I have almost all the kits sitting and waiting for me …. plus extra refills of ones I thought might be fun to have extras 🙂 One of these weekends I’ll settle in and put them all together too. Have an amazing time at convention! Can’t wait to “hear” all about it 🙂

Keep watching since I’m posting 10 alternatives of old Paper Pumpkin kits over the next two weeks! I had fun catching up and creating the alternatives. I’m not at convention this year 😦 since family commitments came first! I will be doing the Live Streaming of the sessions though! Thanks for the encouragement on the blog. So far, so good! 🙂
